Three courses, one beach. Every race is heat-based: you and your team start together and work together to conquer the course.

A great first obstacle race. Ages 13–17 need parental consent and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the course.

The full challenge: 17 obstacles over 10 km. Ages 14–17 need parental consent and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the course.

Kids Challenge

A fun first taste of obstacle racing. Children must be checked in by a parent or guardian, who watches them during the event.

New for Year 5: huge inflatable obstacles join the traditional course. Climb, slide and scramble your way through.

- Adult heatsEvery 20 minutes from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The 5 km and 10 km share the same heats.
- Kids heatsEvery hour at half past, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Your heat
Pick your heat when you register on Trumin. Arrive early so you have time to check in before your start.
Age rules
- Adult 5 km: 13 and over. Adult 10 km: 14 and over.
- Under 18? You need parental consent, and a parent or guardian must stay with you throughout the course.
- Kids (6–12) are checked in by a parent or guardian, who watches them during the event.
Good to know
- Wear comfortable sports clothes and closed shoes you don't mind getting sandy.
- Have your Trumin ticket ready on your phone.
- Bring a hat and sunscreen.
The Year 5 kit
Every Desert Challenge has its own colour. Year 5 is green: paint-splattered, with the mountains rising from the hem.
Cross the finish line to earn the Year 5 finisher shirt and medal.

How much does it cost?
Nothing. Every race is free, but you need a ticket. Register on Trumin and choose your heat.
Who can take part?
Desert Challenge is a closed event for Aramco employees and their families. The Adult 5 km is for ages 13 and over, the Adult 10 km for 14 and over, and the Kids Challenge for ages 6 to 12.
My teenager wants to race. What do we need?
Participants aged 13 to 17 need parental consent and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the course.
How does the kids' race work?
Kids run a 1.6 km course with 8 obstacles. A parent or guardian checks them in and watches them during the event. Kids heats start every hour at half past, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
What is a heat?
A heat is your start wave. You and your team start together and work together to conquer the course. Adult heats leave every 20 minutes from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and you choose yours when you register.
Can I come and watch?
Yes. The Village is open to spectators, with fitness challenges, games and a giant inflatable to try throughout the event.
